Every meal is delicious, their quality and consistency are outstanding! There are so many Ono dishes to enjoy and a lot of items you can make your own combo plate. I wish they had a "steam table" to order from, but other than that, it's all good. The servers are very polite and friendly, you do feel at home when you're here. The ambience is just like a coffee shop in Hawaii, you'll enjoy your meal in a relaxed easy paced atmosphere.

My second time back in less than a week. We ate in and ordered to go. That's how good our food was. We will be back. The flavor is so fresh and crisp. Did I mention the service is A one. Everyone on the floor is attentive. No table assignments, just everyone be helpful it seems.

Amazing food and amazing service. Small/medium mom/pop feel place but don't let that fool you, the food is amazing. I got the butterfish and it was amazing. It's sweet and savory and goes well with the rice. The chicken combos are also amazing. For $18 it is HUGE portions with enough food for 2 meals. The fried chicken is also light and airy and not greasy. Recommend to try and they also have take out option. They have a good size parking lot in the back so parking shouldn't be a problem. I used amazing too much in the review but that's how it's accurately described :)

Ladybug Cafe is a hidden gem in Torrance with decor that looks like it has been frozen in time since the 80s. The mom and pop shop has booth seating and ability to move around tables for large parties. There was long table with 8 people in the restaurant - I'd recommend making a reservation for large groups. There's small parking lot in the back of the restaurant. For the food: The combo is the best way to try different entrees. Any item with flower icon could be made into a combo - I chose Tara "butterfish" Misoyaki and Ahi Tuna Poke. The butterfish is flaky and tender. The poke is a bit too salty for me, but the fish quality is good. Overall, excellent friendly service and delicious food.

Wow 10/10! This hole-in-the-wall is a must visit. The outside is very unassuming and growing up in the area, I never really knew about this place but a friend recommended it and we gave it a try. We went in on a Sunday at noon and we were seated right away. We ordered the butterfish misoyaki plate and the loco moco plate and both did not disappoint. The butterfish was so buttery and cooked to perfection. The loco moco patties were also perfectly seasoned and peppered. We can't wait to try everything else on the menu! Definitely will be including this spot in the rotation.

Plenty of parking in the back, and our first time here since it has changed to Ladybug, and the inside looks the same. I ordered the pork/cod fish Lau Lau and hubby got Bob's omelette + pancakes! Let me tell you - these portions are so generous and so huge! We didn't even eat half of what we ordered. The food was good, but my fave was probably the pancakes. The Lau Lau was a bit dry, oh and they also gave me a side of lomi lomi salmon which was a bit too salty for me. In the end, we got our Hawaiian food fix and a bunch of leftovers that we demolished later on that day. Service was great and love the old HI vibes here. They're moving soon to the old Loft location on Artesia, so find them there soon.

Wow I am so impressed! The food here is soo tasty. I ordered the loco moco bowl and it was probably the best I've had in the South Bay. My friend ordered the fried chicken plate. The batter on the fried chicken was super light and crispy. It was also seasoned perfectly. It came with rice, green salad and mac salad. It was really delicious. The salad came with a sesame oil dressing and the mac salad was pretty light and had a good flavor. The service is awesome and super friendly. Ambiance is pretty laid back/casual and there are plenty of tables and booth seating. The menu is pretty extensive and the portions are quite large. Will definitely come back when I'm craving authentic Hawaiian food!

Another couple of days of degen poker at Hustler Casino, another solid food discovery in Gardena, CA. I'm born and raised in Hawaii so it pains me to say, the food here is better than most plate lunch spots in Hawaii. It is not that they have elevated rather maintained the flavors that are fast disappearing in Hawaii's plate lunch simply because it takes too long to do it right. Outstanding beef stew cooked for hours with tender chunks of beef surrounded in a thick tomato broth laden with melting potatoes, carrots, celery and onion. An equally meltingly thick, delish curry. Potato mac salad, not with chunks of potato but rather crushed and mixed in. Loaded fried rice cooked with bacon fat and the right amount of basic soy sauce. No complaints on the well cooked crispy chicken katsu or the well marinated chicken teriyaki and kalbi. All plates come with rice, potato mac and being Cali, a green salad. Much smaller portions and much more expensive than Hawaii. You won't find me complaining that Mainland buds thought they'd do me a favor and take me to eat Hawaii food 2k miles from home.

I order takeout from here sometimes and have also dined in. Recently, my boyfriend and I ordered takeout. I got a combo plate with the Lady Bug Fried Chicken and Kalbi Short Ribs. All plates come with rice, salad, and mac salad. The LB Fried Chicken is a must try. The mac salad is pretty good. The salad with the dressing is great. Usually when you order to go for a place, they might skimp you on quantity, but this place was not shy with their quantity. My plate was so heavy and filled, it was hard to get to the bottom of it for the rice. IG: @lovingyourtaste
